Lace Midi Skirt & Striped Slides | Dubai

Dubai Outfit: Tshirt and Lace Midi Skirt

Hallo meine Lieben!

Hello my loves! Today I want to share a look from Dubai which felt culturally and fashionably comfortable in this city. My shoulders, knees, and belly button are covered, just like a nice tourist is supposed to dress.

What to wear in Dubai“ Post geplant.

To be completely honest with you, I racked my brain a lot over what to wear in Dubai. I had no experiences with this culture nor had I ever been to a muslim country before. So to be on the safe side I took all the advices given in travel guides and on the internet.

But I found that all my worries and thoughts were for nothing. I saw countless people – men and women – wearing short clothes in Downtown Dubai, at the city walk as well as at the Dubai Marina. Even at the Dubai Mall where signs tell you to dress appropriately no one seems to care. People were wearing shorts, tops, short dresses and skirts no matter what.

Nevertheless I think you can’t go wrong by showing some respect and adapt to the culture without overdoing it 😉

I feel like my outfit is a good compromise. The statement shirt is tucked into a bun, so my shoulders are covers but it doesn’t look too prissy. Also I am wearing the midi skirt high waisted, to cover my belly button and underneath it is a nude underskirt to make sure the skirt isn’t see-through until the knees. What’s a little untypical for me is that I went for flat shoes. Usually I would have added high heels to this look – wearing flat shoes to a skirt is definitely a little bit out of my style comfort zone 😉 However slides have been the best choice since high heels are ridiculous for sightseeing and as well uncomfortable for long walks. (Although some  tourists here obviously didn’t share this opinion o.O)

I really hope this look gives you some inspiration when on outfit research for Dubai! There will be more looks I wore during our Dubai vacay and a „What to wear in Dubai“ Post soon!

Kisses from Dubai :*

    Sabrina
